Interests / Believes

CCA bring to the firm strong interests in a general culture of architecture: its design and technological histories, as well as its complex and changing relationship to society. Of these changes, the firm is particularly interested in focusing on the ways in which the architectural program – the location and accommodation of functions, activities, and services – can be developed through innovative interpretations that are sensitive to and transforms of contemporary cultural needs and ideas.

CCA believes exceptional design emerges from and is created for the people, culture, and ethos of a particular place. In this view, architecture becomes the necessary integrated physical response to a diverse set of values and needs—balancing economic benefit, environmental asset, and enduring experiential delight.

CCA projects are formed by the same set of deeply held principles. In creating buildings, landscapes, and interiors, the firm identifies and designs a common ground—a community—with components of a regional narrative discovered only through exhaustive research, experience, analysis, and reflection.

CCA aspires to always be the best design firm. Determined to always remain in a state of becoming, the firm constantly tests itself, its work and its practice. CCA succeeds when it creates architecture that is recognized as common ground by the client and acknowledged by the world as a singular expression of the craft of architecture.
